" Hello! Attached is a picture of toby. One day out of no-where I started having an interest in boston terriers. I have never reallly been a "dog" person, but I had this interest. I got online and typed "boston terrier adoptions" in my web browser. I clicked on a site, printed out an application and sent it in. I later Received an email stating it could take up to a year to find a dog perfect for us. I was very dissapointed. As I am reading this email, the lady calls me from the website and says she just happens to live about 5 minutes away and she'd bring him over. So We were so excited to get him... He is only 4 years old and we are his 5th owners ! When he was found, he had a bad sore on the back of his neck that will full of maggots, he was completely covered in fleas and ticks and a b-b pellet was lodged in his leg. He also has many scars from god knows what. I think we were meant to find him, because he is so precious. I don't see how any one could hurt this intelligent, sweet animal. Though only about 15 lbs, Cumfery is a very brave and beautiful fellow. He loves to play with his 'gator' and if there is a ball around he will weary the strongest play-person. Dixie Darling

"This is Dixie. I just got her from a breeder. She is only 3 but cannot be bred again, due to a weakened uterus. So...she was given to me! I have had her 3 days now, and my whole life is changed. Let me say this first, I have always owned a Boston, and recently had to put my 15 year old to sleep, as she had congestive heart failure and her quality of life had dwindled. I did not want her to suffer daily. So, with that said, let me tell you, this is my first rescue, as I truly did take her from a sad existence. The breeder was not cruel to her, and she is healthy,however, to live her whole life in a chain link and concrete pen, never knowing that we mere humans are for loving them and spoiling them..........or even worse, that she was made for loving us.....it breaks my heart! I have a huge task on my hands now. She did not even go pee until yesterday afternoon! She did not have any concrete to go on, is all I can figure. And she still has not pooped. I had to hand feed her until this morning, and she still will only take water if I take it to her in my bed.....and hold the bowl. She is so out of her element, she is at a loss as to what to do. I take her outside to the grass, and she will walk right by my side, if I stop, she does. She will not venture around and find a spot to pee on or just enjoy. She lets the cat pounce on her! She just sits there! I told her she was supposed to chase cats, not let the cat chase her! She stays in my bedroom, on my bed, but, the first time I put her on it, she was like a person trying to stand on a ship. I had to lay her down and stay with her until she slept. I know she loves me, she is glued to my side every time I get on the bed, and all night long. If I get up she gets nervous. I need help! Anyone out there with hints on socializing? Walker & Sadie

"These are my two bumbling boston terrors, haha!! Walker will be 15 weeks 11Sep06 and Sadie well be 1 on 25Oct06, Walker is the brindle and Sadie is black and white. I also have a 2yr old Boxer so the house is like a circus most days but I rather like it. Walker and Sadie stand shoulder to shoulder so I can’t wait to see how big he will be full grown. I feel in love with the breed 2yr ago when I got my first Boston from a former boyfriend and have never looked back. They almost bust at the seems with their personalities and that my friends it what hooked me with Buddy, my first Boston. He died prematurely form a heart condition and my now boyfriend was oversees and I think that was one of the lowest moments in my life to date. In every cloud there is a silver lining and that was Walker. Jeff got him in July as a surprise birthday gift, I got to pick. Sadie I got from a pet store last December the runt of a litter. She was only 3lbs when I took her home and now at 16lb I think it was worth it. She is a scrapper I tell you and not scared of a thing until it runs after her!! Then she will run in to the back yard normally leaving a little tinkle trail. Meanwhile Walker Just sets down on the grass along the driveway and watches. Precious, the Boxer, just hangs out in the back witch is why Sadie runs back there.
