Casey

"I absolutely love Boston Terriers, I think they are the greatest dogs in the world and I'll never have another breed. My Casey just turned a year old. This picture is of him and his best friend Schuyler (a cat). They play together, sleep together, and eat together. And Casey gets jealous if Schuyler snuggles with anyone else!"

Feldman

"Feldman was born in July 2005, and we purchased him in October 2005 at a pet store in Sandy, Utah. Totally by coincidence, we got him the day he arrived on the truck from the Texas breeder where he had been born.We had been checking out the pet store periodically, had considered buying a Japanese chin but then decided against it, and then we walked in one day and there was Feldman and we instantly fell in love.

We didn't know much about Bostons at that time, and I'm not sure that this pet store doesn't deal with puppy-mill type breeders--we've had a conversation with the store owner since then and his attitude toward dogs seems sort of distasteful, at least to us. But either we have been extremely lucky in Feldman, or perhaps we're being unfair in our estimation of the store ower and the breeders he deals with, because Feldman is the best dog ever. He has such a jolly temperament and is the best possible companion, so funny and charming and cute. A good little soul.

I know everyone who knows Bostons feels this way, but we are experiencing it for the first time so we are just amazed.

Feldman is now 28 months old and according to what we've read online, he's a giant among Bostons at 30 pounds. I've noticed that a couple of Boston owners from Texas, on your site and elsewhere online, indicate that their Bostons are also 30 pounds or more. I guess they're breeding them big down there! I wonder do you know what that means for the breed standard? Is there going to be a new "Super Heavyweight" class for Bostons over 25 pounds, or would all these dogs be disqualified from shows? We don't care, Feldman is a companion dog, not a show dog, we're just curious. It seems like some of these Texas Bostons are returning to the size of Judge and the other originators of the breed.

The three pictures show Feldman shortly after we brought him home in October 2005, last winter in his little sweater, and this past summer, by which time he'd grown so big that the sweater couldn't even fit over one shoulder."

Tessie Mae

"I daily check your blog. I love Boston Terriers (and have one of my
own that I absolutely love, Tessie Mae!) I wish that I could help
Minnie out and bring her to live with me here in RI. She looks like
she needs someone to love her. What a sweet little face. Please
give us an update if she does get adopted. Make sure she goes to a
family that will spoil her, give her treats, toys, and never beat her
again! What will happen to her if no one wants to adopt her?"

Luckily I've already received a couple responses from people interested in helping Minnie out. There are a lot of loving homes in the world and I'm sure Minnie will find one.

Suzie's breed?

"I need your advice I was given Suzie when she was 6 months old (former owners were moveing and did not / could not take her with) So I was blessed. I was told she was an American Bulldog. She is only 30lbs and fully grown, way to small to be an Am. bulldog but way to big to be a boston terrier. After seeing some of your pictures I must wonder though she does very similiar poses and acts identical to the dogs in your pictures. Please help me with your opinion of her breed. Any info you can give me would be a great help. It doesn't matter in my heart as to what breed she is, but in my mind I would love to know."

I think maybe Suzie is a small pit bull. Maybe she is Boston pit mix, but I'm not very good at determining the breed of mixed dogs with square heads and noses. Hopefully someone out there is better at determining breed than me.

"My name is Buster. Camera's weird things that really need to be chewed on before they can be deemed safe. Until then, I will assume that they are dangerous. As you can see, I have the gift of "nose". "

"This is me with my big sister Peanut. She does not have the gift of "nose" like me although she has an acceptable nose.

Gracie

"This is Gracie, my service dog. Here she is on the porch, showing off her uniform. The other is her wearing a kimono. She's always well behaved everywhere she goes and is a great help to me. Off duty she's very toy crazy. I have yet to see another Boston Terrier service dog. Are there any others out there?"

Wow, I've never heard of a Boston as a service dog. Of course, they're smart and trainable enough. I'm glad to hear that Boston's are able to contribute this way in addition to everything they do for us as companions and entertainers.
